Eight years ago, as i pulled at the first tiny sock threads of what i knew would be a fairly significant unravelling, the layered surrender of all expectations and agendas came along with the release of outward "stuff." I knew that when "done", i may not have any kind of label, or even a name, so...in case i had to shed the label/trappings of "artist", i was moved to adopt one of the old television test patterns that stations would transmit at the end of their broadcast day....something i could offer to folks who made art inquiries over time, and/or appropriate on a tombstone...."Done... thanks fer tuning in... and now a word from our sponsor"...

In the process of ferreting one out, i woke up one day with sudden realization that "end of the broadcast day" was MY mental projection of these, when the real reason they existed was to RECALIBRATE the signal from the broadcast station! Big jolt of inspiration at having a presumption flipped at the very beginning of my process...i could see instantly this recalibration image with the human heart as the focus....follow your heart....recalibrate on the regular....while that may mean 10,000 different things across a population, it rings a bell with most anyone who doesn't want to live their life like a back-of-the-bag cornbread recipe. Interview a few folks on their deathbeds at your local hospital...you'll get some great pro-tips on this. Act on them.
